Here are the new releases for March 15, 2011:

Album Art From the Band’s Website
The Band: Hailing from Wales, The Joy Formidable is a trio of UK rockers that pay homage to genres as disparate as grunge and pop, all the while balancing the heavy-handed intensity of the former and the fun flashiness of the latter. Their first EP, titled “A Balloon Called Moaning” came out in 2010, and even in the short year that EP has been out, the music industry has taken notice. SPIN magazine called it “ambitious… pretty, airy, girly, and sometimes dark,” The New York Times commented on their “cryptic lyrics that glint with urgency.” In the past, The Joy Formidable has toured with bands like The Temper Trap and Passion Pit.
The Album: This album is the first for The Joy Formidable, but songs like “Whirring” are taken off their EP, which has already proven infectiously fun and mysterious and driving. From the sound of clips and the songs that have already been put out on their EP, it looks like this is going to be a strong start to the career of this Welsh Trio.
