The latest edition in the WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight comes to you from New York City musician Maggie Rogers. The Maryland native moved to New York to attend NYU and made a huge impact on the music scene earlier this year when she debuted her single, “Alaska,” during a masterclass for music students at the Tisch School of the Arts at Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. You can check out that track over on Music Savage.
Her fantastic new single is titled, “Dog Years,” and it continues Rogers’ exploration of incorporating electronics and rhythm into a traditional folk song style, elevating the genre to a whole new levels of sound while making sure the lyrics provide the heart and soul. Check out her new song and be sure to catch her live as she hits the road this coming January, with a stop at Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton on January 25th.
