This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is on the smashing new track, “Comfort Consumption,” from East London trio False Heads. It’s the last single from their fantastic EP, Gutter Press, which was just released on March 10th.

False Heads are Luke Griffiths (vocals/guitar), Jake Elliott (bass) and Barney Nash (drums), three friends who officially joined forces in 2015 after the release of their first single, “Steal and Cheat,” got the attention of Libertines drummer Gary Powell. He signed them to his record label 25 Hour Convenience Store later that year and in 2016 the band recorded a series of new tracks in Pete Townsend’s studio. To say it has been a whirlwind of success for the band is an understatement. I mean, Iggy Pop has stated that False Heads are his new favorite band. That is some high praise!

Take a listen to “Comfort Consumption” and you will understand why there is so much buzz around this up and coming band. With brilliant lyrics and a slow, building burn, you won’t know what hit you when the song fully kicks into gear–but you will be left asking for more.
